The manufacture of recreational vehicles continues to enjoy record growth in Australia with the appetite for a whole new range of RVs fueling the sales boom. Production statistics have reflected a year on year growth of more than 9% annually according to Bob Carroll from Australian Events.
Australian Events owns and operates 13 major Leisure Expos in Queensland and claims that the extraordinary growth in production and sales has added exciting new dimensions to his events which in turn has seen the events grow in size and popularity.
“Ten years ago we had a hand full of manufacturers trotting out the same old designs, same old interiors with very basic facilities and all requiring direct 240v power feeds to operate. Now we have over 110 different companies marketing dozens of different models of camper trailers, caravans, slide on vans, pop tops, fifth wheelers and motor homes. Some of the interiors are pure luxury with everything in them from toilets to ensuites, washing machines and dryers, double ovens, ceramic cook tops, flat screens, surround sound systems, USB inputs, slide out barbques and solar panels on the roof.”
The South Queensland Caravan Camping Boating and Fishing Expo at Nambour Showgrounds next weekend confirms those observations with dozens of companies already booked to showcase millions of dollars in the very latest on offer in the leisure market.
One of those new leisure vehicles will be the Australian designed, German built, Concorde Motorhome. This extraordinary vehicle has a hydraulic ramp that lowers at the rear to allow a small vehicle to drive up into the ‘belly’ of the motorhome.
