Tomorrow the gates will be thrown open on the 22-24 May Mackay Home Show and Caravan, Camping Expo at the Mackay Showgrounds.
While this Australian Events-organised Home Show/Expo is primarily about exciting Mackay locals about lifestyle options and the great outdoors, the company’s Managing Director Bob Carroll reckons, “Patrons deserve much more than that.
“We recognised years ago that our Home Shows and Expos needed to appeal to all audiences be they retired people, families, children or singles and so we started adding new components like infotainment, entertainment, rides for children, demonstrations, Expo shuttles, major prizes and the like.
“At every one of our events across Queensland you can expect to see a minimum of two high profile presenters and sometimes up to four. For the Mackay Home Show and Caravan, Camping Expo, we’ll have three of the best in Dave “Mossy” Moss, Ranger Nick and local celebrities Kristy and Michelle from K & Co in conjunction with Mackay Reef Fish Supplies.”
At 10.00am, 12.00pm and 2.00pm each day Mossy will be hosting fishing talks on his twelve metre long fish tank fully stocked with lively Barramundi. During his “Shimano Fishing Show” he will demonstrate casting and retrieval techniques with the latest lures and soft plastics and send Mackay fisher folk into a frenzy with the results. Plus he’ll give away over $2,000 in prize packs each day.
“King of the camp oven cooks” Ranger Nick will be on show at 10.30am, 12.30pm and 2.30pm each day with his sumptuous camp oven creations plus his larrikin story-telling, singing and poetry.
Kristy and Michelle will demonstrate how to prepare and cook seafood the correct way on their Barbecues Galore-supplied Weber BBQ, then one lucky patron will take the BBQ home! Look for them at 10.30am and 12.30pm on Friday, 10.30am, 12.30pm and 2.30pm on Saturday and 10.30am and 12.30pm on Sunday.
Gates open each day at 9.00am and close at 5.00pm save for the final day, Sunday, when close is at 4.00pm.
