Federal Minister for Industry the Hon Ian Macfarlane MP officially launched the event. The Minister, TRC Mayor Paul Antonio, Australian Events’ Director Bob Carroll and Platinum Sponsor Master Hire’s Managing Director Scott Marchant spoke passionately about the Toowoomba/Surat Basin region and its economic prospects.
State Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry the Hon Dr John McVeigh MP, TRC Councillor Geoff McDonald and WDRC Councillor Tony Braeme also attended along with a large contingent of media representatives, sponsors and exhibitors, including two senior officials with Toowoomba’s favourite airline, QantasLink.
