Redland City Council’s Deputy Mayor Alan Beard will officially open the brand new Cleveland Caravan, Camping, Boating and 4×4 Expo this Friday morning. The ribbon cutting ceremony officially opens the inaugural event and takes place at the entrance to the Cleveland Showgrounds at 9am.

Event organiser Bob Carroll has reported, “The Redlands City Council have been very progressive to ensure that this event happens in Cleveland. All Councillors have really got behind this new event. Council has been very welcoming and very efficient in making sure that the Cleveland Showgrounds and the entire city are in top shape, ready to welcome the thousands of visitors expected over the next three days. It’s a real credit to both the Council and this beautiful region.”

Redland City Council have constructed new walkways and a bridge to connect the brand new car parking facility on Ross Court with the Showgrounds in time for the event. A free shuttle bus has also been contracted to run between the Cleveland Railway Station and the Showgrounds during the event. This will allow people to travel by train from any part of the city via Translink, then jump on the free bus to the Showgrounds and be dropped off right at the front gate.

Event Director, Bob Carroll from Australian Events said “Not only the Council was in full support of the event but there has been such an overwhelming positive response on social media from locals excited about the event coming to Cleveland.”

Visitors to the Expo will also be able to experience the award winning Redlands Museum with direct access available from within the event. Friends of the Museum will also be serving tea, coffee and homemade fares, plus outside they will have blacksmithing demonstrations and a range of old machinery and tractors operating.

The Cleveland Caravan, Camping, Boating and 4×4 Expo is on at the Cleveland Showgrounds, 25th to 27th September. For all the event details go to www.clevelandexpo.com.au
