Murphy’s Creek Escape is a picturesque campground located at the foot of the Toowoomba range, 1 ½ hours from Brisbane or just a short 30-minute drive from the centre of Toowoomba. Murphys Creek Escape, (originally known as Murphys Creek Camping Park), was carved from vagrant vegetation that existed on a 50-acre block on the banks of Murphys Creek in the 1980’s. Peter and Lisa Souter purchased the property from the original owners in late September 2009, pouring a year of hard work into improving the grounds. The park was then re-opened to the public and has since gained a reputation as a beautiful camping oasis to relax, unwind and escape the worries of the world. Peter and Lisa recommend taking your time to explore the area and enjoy a dip in the inland seasonal sandy beach. Try their many adventure activities (235-metre flying fox, ropes course, archery or abseiling), and to bring your bike to test out the mountain bike tracks. The park is also an ideal place for a BBQ or picnic or to simply relax under the trees with a book.
Murphys Creek Escape offers powered, non-powered and remote camping on large sites within an amazing natural bush setting. Murphys Creek Escape will be exhibiting at the 2018 Queensland Outdoor Adventure and Motoring Expo, 3 – 5 August, Toowoomba Showgrounds.
