Senior officers from the Queensland-based events company Australian Events will visit the Gold Coast Turf Club this Thursday (30 October) at 1.00pm to inspect works on the club’s new Exhibition Centre.

The company convenes fifteen major events across Queensland annually focussing on industry/mining, caravans/camping/boating/motoring/fishing, housing/household and lifestyle.

Australian Events has recently resolved to increase the number of major events it convenes on the Gold Coast. Its traditional mid-year Gold Coast Home Show and Caravan Camping Expo (24-26 July) will be joined by a new event, the Gold Coast Outdoor Adventure and Motoring Expo (6-8 March).

The company’s Director Corporate Development Greg Johnson said: “We monitor event performance and market opportunities to determine if new events should be added or existing events refined.

“It was clear to us, following this year’s Gold Coast event that the market is expanding. In the interests of our exhibitors and local citizens it is timely that we add this additional event.

“Let’s face it, when Australians, indeed when people from around the world, think of travel and adventure they think of the Gold Coast.

“Exciting things are happening on the ‘coast.’ The Commonwealth Games is coming and with it major infrastructure developments. This has led to the relocation of the Gold Coast Show to the Turf Club and the construction of this 2,500m2 Exhibition Centre. Both our events are also at the club and we want to find out first-hand what the new centre looks like and whether we can employ it to even further increase the number of exhibitors and displays at our events.”

Australian Events Managing Director Bob Carroll will lead the delegation and Gold Coast media representatives are cordially invited to join him to find out first-hand what the new centre will look like and to get an update on Australian Events’ future Gold Coast plans.
