Marty Rowlands and Stephen Lean from the award winning KBV Simmental Stud are one of the first Queensland cattle breeders to jump on board and secure their involvement in the 2017 Queensland Beef Expo, all within hours of the official event launch.
KBV is a Stud operation run under commercial conditions located just outside of Toowoomba at Murphys Creek. Their goal is to not only raise Simmental cattle, but to also produce superior genetics that breeders from around the world would seek to acquire.
Since the early years of establishment, KBV has produced and exhibited numerous Royal Show Champions both intrastate and interstate. KBV will once again display some of their prize beasts at this year’s Queensland Beef Expo.
Mr Rowlands said that last year’s Beef Expo at Toowoomba Showgrounds was a major success. “This event provided a great opportunity to display our stock to a specific target audience. Every Enquiry we had was one of genuine interest.”
The three day event in August attracts thousands of visitors, producers and breeders from across Southern Queensland and Northern NSW. According to event manager Bob Carroll, “The Toowoomba event provides a fantastic opportunity for the industry to get together and view and learn about different cattle breeds, as well as export opportunities in our region, local trends and farm practices and to discover new technologies”.
Along with the cattle breeds will be an extensive display of agricultural and cattle equipment, earthmoving equipment, tractors and farm machinery, water tanks, pumps, tools, education, safety equipment and more.
The event runs from 30 August to 1 September at the Toowoomba Showgrounds. Visit the event website for further details, www.beefexpo.com.au
