A record crowd attended last weekend’s Sunshine Coast Home Show and Caravan, Camping and Boating Expo at the Kawana Sports Precinct.

When the event closed on Sunday afternoon 15,155 Sunshine Coast locals had visited the 200 exhibitors on display. Interestingly enough exhibitor numbers were up by 25% with companies coming from as far afield as Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and New Zealand. By far the largest contingent of exhibitors came from the Sunshine Coast and throughout Queensland. Many of them reported record sales.

Australian Events Director Corporate Development, Greg Johnson said that the Queensland-based company was “over the moon with the results.

“We all know what a hot spot the Sunshine Coast is with its rapid development and significant population growth, but we were pleasantly surprised with the turnout. Crowds were queuing well before opening time.

“Mind you, nature did smile on us and our patrons by delivering three spectacular days, perfect for families and retirees to visit the exhibitors and enjoy the entertainment on offer.”

Mr Johnson thanked the Sunshine Coast Council for enabling Australian Events to convene the show at Kawana Sports Precinct and added that he would like to see Council investigate the development of an even larger multi-purpose centre in the area.

He said: “sadly the show is not able to continue to grow at this venue because we are currently at capacity. We certainly enjoy coming to Kawana, as do our patrons, but for us to elevate this event to one of the largest in the country we simply need more space and more parking.”

The Sunshine Coast Home Show and Caravan, Camping and Boating Expo will be back again in 2015 from Friday, 16 October to Sunday, 18 October. Keep up to date through www.australianevents.com.au
