From the age of 15, Daniel O’Brien had the dream of working with chickens on his own farm. This small dream has now grown from Daniel owning and running his own free range egg farm to creating Chicken Caravans!
In August 2010, Daniel bought 2000 day old chicks and realised he needed a way to transport them around the farm without any hassles. With the help of his business partner, Chris, Daniel went to the drawing board and began designing the first ever Chicken Caravan and it was built by December.
In the early years, only 12 units were sold but as farmers began hearing about this innovative technology, construction had to be increased. By 2013 the Chicken Caravan won Australian Farm Invention of the Year.
With the expansion of Chicken Caravan, Daniel has passed on the operation of his free range egg farm and has devoted himself to the development of the Chicken Caravan.
