Tourism Events Queensland has championed a major new campaign to drive intrastate tourism and the first major public exhibition to support this campaign was held on the Gold Coast 24th to 26th July.
The innovative, Industry Approved, Gold Coast Expo was a major showcase of the latest and greatest in camper trailers, caravans, 4x4s and everything anyone would need to get their Queensland holiday adventure started.
The ‘Good to Go’ campaign, which aims to inspire Queenslanders to explore the very best of their own backyard, has wide appeal to all Queenslanders and this event certainly whet the appetite at a time when people want to travel and have fun but know that interstate and overseas travel is just too risky.
Tourism Events Queensland has also partnered with several retail distribution partners to provide significant offers. Queensland musicians Busby Marou, who provided the soundtrack to Queensland’s incredibly successful Beautiful One Day, Perfect The Next relaunch, made their return to support tourism across the state and have featured in the soundtrack for the ‘Good to Go’ campaign.
A core message of the campaign is built on the premise that Queensland’s tourism industry is open, ready to welcome visitors and is following COVID Safe practices. The Gold Coast Expo was in fact be the first ‘Covid Safe’ Caravan Camping Expo to be staged in Australia. This event was followed last weekend with the Queensland Outdoor Adventure and Motoring Expo at the Toowoomba Showgrounds.
Both events are owned and operated by Queensland based event company Australian Events. Event Director, Bob Carroll said that the exhibitors have done exceptionally well and were glad to be back on the display grid.
