Queensland company Australian Events today expressed its delight at the level of support it has received from local businesses and key stakeholder groups for the 29/30 April North Queensland Transport, Trades and Mining Expo at Townsville’s Reid Park.
Australian Events’ Director Corporate Development Greg Johnson said, “The Expo is about profiling Townsville and North Queensland as a natural resource-rich region with growing economic drivers and unlimited future investment opportunities.
“The Expo belongs to Townsville and it is our privilege to be able to work collaboratively with key stakeholders to ensure that the region receives real benefits from the event.”
Townsville Mayor Cr Jenny Hill said, “This event represents a unique opportunity for local businesses to meet, learn and uncover future growth opportunities.” Townsville Enterprise Interim CEO Patricia O’Callaghan said, “We encourage local business leaders to make themselves aware of economic developments across the region and to seek opportunities for business growth. The Expo provides a great forum for that engagement.”
Mr Johnson added, “We have received good site bookings from local companies and enthusiastic support from local media. Already local radio station Zinc 100.7 has agreed to a comprehensive advertising and promotion package that hits the airwaves in early April and culminates with station personality “Wildy” doing an outside broadcast at Reid Park on 29 April.
“A state election is only days away and we are aware that both major parties have made positive noises about funding major infrastructure projects. Successful state infrastructure outcomes coupled with further developments in the region will spell out exciting times for Townsville,” he concluded.
