Friday, 13 March launches a big three-day “long-weekend” of Expo magic at the historic Redcliffe Showgrounds.

Queensland company Australian Events is bringing the Moreton Bay Caravan, Camping and Boating Expo to town with 160 exhibitors from the Moreton Bay area and beyond.

Company Director Corporate Development Greg Johnson said, “The end result was astonishing. Twice we had to go to Council to have the exhibition area extended and twice Council agreed. At the end of the day we’ve ended up with an enormous space double the size of what we had originally planned.

“Clearly something very special is happening in the Moreton Bay area to give businesses the confidence to turn up in large numbers like this.”

The Expo will profile the very latest in camper trailers, caravans, motor homes, new cars, utes, 4×4’s, boats and kayaks and a massive range of motoring and caravanning accessories.

It also includes a bevy of free entertainment and infotainment including camp oven cooking expert Ranger Nick, Creek to Coast’s Scott Hillier with his mouth-watering seafood dishes, Dave “Mossy” Moss with the Shimano Fishing Show and Luke and his wiggly friends from Luke’s Reptile Kingdom. Plus there are free rides for kids and a complimentary Expo shuttle train to ferry patrons around the Showgrounds.

Local, leading business Cunningham Marine has donated a $9.000 Bluefin/Mercury boat package as a prize. It will be one of a number of great prizes that also include $7,000 in fishing gear, a $1,600 electric bike, SilverFire cooking equipment and Scott Hillier’s BBQ.

Gates open at 9.00am on Friday, Saturday, Sunday 13-15 March and close at 5.00pm except for Sunday when close is at 4.00pm.
