Deception Bay signwriter Mathew Macchi’s Aragon Skins’ stand at Farm Fantastic Expo is a world away from his days of wrapping mangled “star” cars in the back drops of movie sets in Hollywood.
He played a key role behind the scenes in Fast And Furious, Fast And Furious 2, Tokyo Drift, Death Race and Taxi Ride – and on the plane in Lord of the Rings in New Zealand.
And closer to home he was up close and personal with Mad Max III.
Mr Macchi, during his time with StreetSmart, he ensured all the sponsorships stickers on 28 of the 31 V8 super cars were “schmick” after repairs during high profile events like Bathurst.
He said he travelled Australia three times changing the Big Pond, Toll Priority and DHL corporate badges on all their company vehicles.
Since starting his own business, he’s made his mark on the PCYC (Police Citizens Youth Club) and the Konnect signage state-wide.
They created wraps for Foxtel’s Penny Wells’s Top Of Down Under’s 4WD and Jason Andrew’s All 4 Adventures so we know they last.
Mr Macchi heads up two businesses Aragon Skins and Batta Signs.
The Macchi magic he says gives the “wow” factor in advertising.
“Success for me is when strangers come up to you on the street and compliment you on your signage,” he said.
To say he is rapt in his work is an understatement. Mr Miacchi will put “wraps”on anything that isn’t plastic – including tractors.
At Farm Fantastic he will be wrapping a boat in a demonstration from 11am and spanning up to 90 minutes daily at the event.
He’ll be among the hundreds of exhibitors at Farm Fantastic rolling onto the showgrounds to open ready for business on Friday.
Free return shuttle buses will run from the Morayfield Shopping Centre, Caboolture Rail and Caboolture Hub to the Caboolture showgrounds.
