Roads leading to Rockhampton and in particular the Rockhampton Showgrounds were busy this morning with hundreds of people queuing early at the three entry gates for the grand opening of the 2016 Rockhampton Home Show and Caravan Camping Boating and 4×4 Expo.
Organisers are bracing for the biggest event ever with fine sunny days predicted for the next three days. Motels and hotels are heavily booked with visitors and exhibitors travelling from all over Queensland to be a part of the event. Some of Australia’s finest caravan, camper trailer, boat and 4×4 manufacturers will be on site with over $10 million worth of stock on show and for sale.
“The weather is absolutely perfect once again for what will be a massive event at the Rockhampton Showgrounds. Over 170 Exhibitors are set up on site and excited and ready for big crowds. We encourage people to allow plenty of time, at least four hours or so to get around and see everything. If you are coming in from out of town plan to stay overnight. This is a rare event and you need to take your time and enjoy it.”
Off street parking is very limited and only accessible via gate 8. There are three event entry points to the event, one opposite the school at gate 2, one at gate 9 on the south west side and inside gate 8 in the north west corner.
