The 2017 Mackay Home Show and Caravan Camping Expo took place on the 22-24 May 2017 at the Mackay Showgrounds.
All we can say is “What an Event!“. We experienced a lot of rain during exhibitor set up and the first day of the event (Friday) which made for a very wet and muddy start to the event. However, with a bit of luck, the rain stopped Saturday morning just in time for gates to open on Day 2! Once the clouds had cleared, the crowds came pouring through the gates, making Day 2 (Saturday) the BEST Saturday visitor attendance on record for this event. Overall we saw 12,241 visitors through the gates.
The Showgrounds held up rather well considering the huge rainfall experienced in May, however, improvement needs to be made. We will be working closely with the Mackay Showgrounds in the next year to better improve drainage and parking.
We would like to say a special thank you to our prize sponsor Stone Tops Mackay, who provided the $5,000 Stone Benchtop Package and congratulations to the lucky prize winner, Tracy and Scott from Glenella. Thank you to everyone who entered into this great competition!
